Delta Dental of Oklahoma offers free mouthguards to youth athletes ahead of fall, winter sports seasons

Order form open through August.

For the first time since launching its mouthguard program in 2022, Delta Dental of Oklahoma has opened our request form to the public for free mouthguards for a second time period in a calendar year to help more young Oklahomans protect their smiles while participating in sports.

From now until the end of August, parents, coaches and league commissioners can order free mouthguards for their athletes aged 18 and under by submitting a request online. The deadline for requests is August 31, 2026, or while supplies last. Orders will be delivered in September.

“We know preparing for fall and winter sports seasons may not have been top of mind for parents, coaches and athletes during our last ordering period in April,” said John Gladden, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Oklahoma. “We are excited to make this protective equipment available to more Oklahoma families and help kids around our state prioritize oral safety.”

Mouthguard Types - Combined

Competitive sports increase the risk of oral injuries. Athletes who do not wear mouthguards are 60 times more likely to suffer a dental injury. Experts recommend that athletes wear mouthguards while participating in both contact and non-contact sports such as football, basketball, competitive cheer, volleyball, hockey and skateboarding.

“Dental injuries can be painful, costly and have lasting effects on a child’s overall well-being,” said Terrisa Singleton-Smith, director of the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation. “Wearing a mouthguard is an easy, proactive step to protect your young athlete and keep them in the game.”

Delta Dental of Oklahoma will provide youth athletes with microwavable, moldable GAME ON® Mouthguards. Accepted by the American Dental Association, these mouthguards are designed to provide high-performance impact absorption, accommodate braces and be remolded as teeth move. They are also available in a variety of styles and sizes, including straps and no straps.
